• Sibling Workshop Series


     Join Temple Shalom for our first series of Sibling Workshops! These "SibShops" are designed for children ages 7-12 who have siblings with special needs. They are a fun social group that can provide a supportive environment and a place to share amongst other children who understand. Led by a licensed social worker, these workshops include dinner, dessert, and group activities. Contact ekieval@templeshalom.org with any questions!

     The Open Your Eyes Fund is pleased to partner with the Altshuler Family Scholar-in-Residence Fund and Adult Learning to bring our first Artist/Scholar to Temple Shalom for an extended residency of study and creation. Rabbi Dr. Ariel Burger, a working artist, scholar and teacher will be part of our community from October through May. During this time he will explore the power of story-telling, through large community presentations and a number of smaller Havurah learning sessions. Together we will explore lesser-known, mythical and poetic Jewish stories through text and art.

    Mussar, music, Miriam's drum.... These are only a few of our exciting offerings.   We have outstanding clergy and staff who offer a wide variety of courses and knowledgeable volunteer members who bring us exciting classes year after year. The temple bulletin and Thursday night emails highlight a few of these courses. Watch for announcements and register for courses on the Temple Shalom Adult Learning page of the website. You may register two adults on this form. Please select the classes for each adult.

    In small peer groups with trained adult mentors, Rosh Hodesh creates experiences where girls can bond and have open conversations about real adolescent issues once a month. The cost is $125/participant and includes lunch.     Learn about Church/State issues in Israel, the Orthodox establishment in control of state-sponsored Judaism, and a handful of organizations working to challenge the status quo.  The class will be taught by Rabbinic Intern Phil Bressler, a fifth-year student at Hebrew College.
    All are welcome. The free class will be at 12:15 p.m. on Wednesdays, June 7, 14 and 21.

    PROGRAM DETAILS

    MINCHA is our incredible 7th and 8th grade learning and community program. MINCHA meets every Tuesday evening from 4:30-6:30 in the Social Hall. Tuesdays at MINCHA includes dinner and creative programming around Jewish themes, texts and holidays. MINCHA participants build a strong community together where everyone can learn, play and grow. Participation in MINCHA is a required component of our B'nai Mitzvah program. Pre-b'nai Mitzvah 7th or 8th graders are expected to attend MINCHA on Tuesday evenings.

    MA'ARIV
    MA'ARIV is the High School program at Temple Shalom.  MA'ARIV meets from 6:30-8:00 pm on Tuesday evenings for dinner and learning. 

    Confirmation: 10th graders are eligable to be Confirmed on 5/18/18 and should indicate on this form their interest in joining the Confirmation class.  Confirmation meets roughly 6 times on Sunday evenings from 5:30-7:30 for dinner and discussion.  Registration for MA'ARIV is a required part of the Confirmaion program but participants do not have to attend on Tuesday night.  

    2017-2018 registration fee is $630
